Business Development Executive - Thorn SDS
£40k plus OTE
THORN SDS is a service company, currently providing long term contractor based solutions into the Space and Defence Sectors. We are recruiting for a Business Development Executive to grow our existing business within the European Space Sector and to take our strategic outsource proposition into new market sectors in the UK.
The post holder shall reside either in the UK or in Germany and will work from both offices (Alton, Hants, UK and Darmstadt, Germany) with regular travel.
The BDE should enjoy challenging situations and be comfortable with strategic selling. This role encompasses the prospecting, bidding and closing of outsource contractor solutions.
The BDE is required to have:
- highly developed communication and presentation skills
- bid writing experience
- ability to understand and experience of working within varying organisational cultures (including academia/scientific)
- ability to demonstrate an interest and knowledge in space related technology
- demonstrable business development experience / success.
Although the German office and clientele are English speaking, it would be desirable but not mandatory that the BDE has an additional European language and a background in either engineering or Space Operations.
In addition to the basic salary this role will enjoy a significant bonus entitlement based primarily on contracted gross profit and securing contracts with long term customer commitments.
