About Thorn SDS
Freedom Managed Services is a Limited liability Partnership (LLP) which trades under the name Thorn SDS (Satellite Date Services). The trading name emanates from the heritage of the business, parts of which was once entrenched within the Thorn EMI and more recently Tyco International groups. Thorn SDS is now an independent company, jointly owned by Evergreen Capital and Freedom Capital. In the summer of 2010 Thorn SDS acquired the German business Thorn Sicherheits GmbH - which also now trades under the Thorn SDDS banner. Both business, in Germany and the UK, provide high quality outsourcing solutions to operate and maintain client's data and control room applications.
Historically Thorn SDS has had very close relationships with a small number of clients in the Space and Defence sectors. These relationships often involves risk share and joint investment as a demonstration of our commitment and our own confidence in our ability to be innovative, drive change, deliver to the highest standards and become an integral part of our client's business. We are now looking to exploit this well established skill set to offer the same high quality service across other sectors, offering clients an alternative to the more established service companies.
